While Australia has recovered from its record-breaking heatwave, the Midwestern US has dealt with the polar vortex. In the upper atmosphere, a band of strong winds has formed that keep wind-chill temperatures locked in. And for a while, folks in different states like Chicago were freezing their tails off. An anonymous Imgur user posted a photo of their Jeep, or what’s left of it. The freezing temperatures in Chicago were so bad that it literally caused the paint to peel off the car. And you can’t exactly sue Mother Nature to pay for a new paint job, now can you?
